In life-coaching as I teach it, the premise is that we create our own reality via our hidden thoughts and belief systems. We are creating our own universe either via random thoughts and contradicting belief systems or via a continued process of awareness, that serves to expand the reality of our lives. The glue that holds any reality in place is a universal law called “The Law of Attraction”.  In this method of coaching, we ask the client certain questions that opens up the process for the client to discover his\her own contradictory thought processes. Through finding the mismatches of the wants and belief systems, the client begins to understand how only the self is the limiter of any experience to be lived.

SCENARIO # 1:

Life-Coach:    So what do you want to work on?

X Person:        I want to create more income. I have a great education, know different languages, have traveled the world but can’t make ends meet.

Life-Coach:    What do you do for a living?

X Person:        I teach yoga.

Life Coach:     Why don’t you charge more then you are doing now?

X Person:        Oh! I can’t, I am trying to make a change in peoples lives, I want people who don’t have much money to be able to afford the classes.

Life-Coach:    When you make the decision to earn money it is impossible not to earn it. There are many solutions in terms of doing but the real question is are you sure that you want to make money?

X Person:        Of course I do that is why I am talking to you.

Life-Coach:    How do you see rich people?

X Person:        Oh! They are usually spoilt, they think they are better then other cause they have money, they are not helpful towards others less fortunate…..

Life-Coach:    Is it easy for these people to be spiritual?

X- Person:      No, it is harder for them because……ups! I see where this is going, oh! My God, I am thinking that money ruins people and that money is evil!

Life-Coach:    Bingo! Do you see the contradiction? I want money but money is bad. Of course you are not earning money because as long as you believe money can ruin a person or make them less spiritual, you don’t really want it in your life. See money is just paper, a piece of paper can not be good or bad in itself.

X-Person:       Hold on, I am just trying to recover from what just happened! I am feeling weird now. How could I not see such an obvious and simple thing?
