Meditation of the Month (October)
“RE-VITALIZING THE HEART AREA” (ALSO GOOD FOR DEPRESSION & POOR CIRCULATION).
-Practice for 40 days, everyday to experience the benefits.
Sit with crossed legs or on a chair with the soles of the feet firmly planted on the ground. The spine is very straight. Put the fingers tips of the right hand onto the corresponding mounds of the left hand. Lock the thumbs to hold position. Elbows MUST be straight, bring arms to your left at a 60 degree angle as your torso faces the front. Stretch the elbows as far up as you can. Inhale powerfully from the nose and exhale powerfully through the mouth, pressing navel point as far back as possible (towards the spine) on the outgoing breath. Closed eyes and focus on the breath.
Time: 8 minutes. End: Inhale deeply, exhale all the breath out and hold it out for 20 -25 seconds. Relax.
Notes: In this posture your elbows will be inclined to bend. DON’T. Hold for sure the 60 degree angle. You may feel hot, reach a sweating point. This posture will hurt all the meridian points as the body adjusts such as elbows and shoulders. Also the glandular system is adjusting. Feeling weak in the posture is normal.
Yogi Bhajan-Quotes: “Correctly practicing this kriya can benefit those people who have any kind of tension or heart problems or who have very poor circulation”.
